Woodlawn Arts Academy’s summer art exhibit featuring three traveling exhibits through Family Diversity Projects opens May 17. The three traveling exhibits are “Authentic Selves,” “Nothing to Hide” and “Building Bridges.”
“Sweet Reflection,” a Prismacolor colored pencil piece, was the first-place winner in the grades 9-12 category.
The artwork will be on display in the halls and lounge at Woodlawn through April 26, and the exhibit is free to view during regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
Woodlawn’s private music lesson program runs year-round and is open to children and adults.
Woodlawn Arts Academy will be performing Shrek the Musical Jr. on Jan. 13 and 14 at the Wiltz Auditorium at Dixon High School. Show times have changed as a result of predicted snow. Show times now will be 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
