Fire at a home in the 14200 block of Napa Circle in unincorporated Plainfield on Dec. 14.

Plainfield — The Lockport Township Fire Protection District and neighboring fire departments worked to extinguish a blaze in the 14200 Block of Napa Circle Saturday night.

LTFPD reports that crews responded to the scene in unincorporated Plainfield at approximately 5:37 p.m. on Dec. 14 and discovered a “working fire” on the second floor of a duplex.

LTFPD Deputy Chief Jim Grady said in a statement that “crews on the scene were able to get the fire under control quickly” and that no occupants were injured in the fire, though they were home at the time.

The home sustained damage which left it uninhabitable and utilities to the building have been shut off.

Crews from the Romeoville and Plainfield fire departments were called to assist with the fire, while the Homer, East Joliet, Bolingbrook, Troy, and Romeoville Fire Departments assisted with covering the rest of the involved fire districts.

According to LTFPD, the cause of the fire “appears to be accidental” but is still being investigated by the department’s fire investigators.
