Joliet’s City Hall, Jefferson St. bridge closed due to water main break

The Jefferson Street Bridge is temporarily closed to traffic coming east due to a water main break affecting the area.

City Hall at 150 W. Jefferson St. is also closed Thursday due to the water main break, according to a news release from the city of Joliet.

The Joliet Utilities Department will be performing emergency water main repairs on West Jefferson Street near Joliet Street beginning on Thursday, according to the release.

Motorists should avoid the area due to repairs. The area will reopen once the repairs are concluded, according to the release.
