Plainfield South 50, Washington 35: The Cougars held Washington to just eight second-half points as they won the fifth-place consolation game at the Pekin Tournament. Kareem Parker led Plainfield South (10-5) with 19 points.
Lemont 70, Stagg 39: Lemont rolled to victory in the consolation round of the Jack Tosh Tournament. Alanas Castillo paced Lemont with 21 points, while Gabe Sularski added 18.
Bolingbrook 59, Lake Forest 49: In the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic quarterfinals, Davion Thompson had 22 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead the Raiders (12-2) to the win. JT Pettigrew added 14 points and nine rebounds.
Oak Park-River Forest 63, Lockport 52: Lockport bowed out of the Pontiac Tournament with a loss in the consolation semifinal round. Collin Miller led the Porters (7-7) with 17 points.
Lisle 52, Gardner-South Wilmington 47: The Panthers (1-14) fell in the 15th-place game at the Plano Christmas Classic. Cameron Gray led GSW with 10 points.
Addison Trail 62, Joliet Central 35: The Steelmen scuffled on offense and dropped a consolation bracket game to close out its participation in the State Farm Classic. James Lee had 10 points for Joliet Central (2-12).
New Trier 55, Joliet West 38: The Tigers bowed of the Pontiac Holiday Tournament with a loss in the fifth-place bracket. Ethan Hillsman led Joliet West (10-4) with 13 points.
Plainfield East 52. Morton 48: KJ Miller and Joshua Stone each scored 13 points as the Bengals advanced into the 13th-place game at the Hinsdale Central Tournament.
St. Edward 60, Plainfield Central 54: The Wildcats dropped the 13th-place game at the Elgin Tournament.
Dwight 60, Ottawa Marquette 52: The Trojans claimed the consolation title at the Seneca Shipyard Showdown. Collin Bachand scored 17 to pace Dwight (9-5).
Plano 73, Morris 58: Morris (6-5) dropped the 11th-place game at the Plano Christmas Classic. Jack Wheeler had 33 points and 12 rebounds for Morris, while Bryce Varner scored 13.
Providence Catholic 68, Leyden 59: At the Maine East Tournament, freshman Kelechi Enyia led the Celtics to the win, while Seth Cheney and Curtis Stubbs each scored 12. AJ Rayford and Ryan Lipke both scored 10.
Wilmington 42, Reed-Custer 33: In the Seneca Shipyard Showdown, the Wildcats topped the Comets in the fifth-place game. Lucas Rink led Wilmington with 15 points, while Jacob Reardon led Reed-Custer with 12.
Marmion 64, Lincoln-Way Central 56 (OT): In the Plano Tournament fifth-place game, the Knights fell in overtime despite 28 points and six rebounds from Lucas Andresen and 18 points and nine boards from Korey Cagnolatti.
Coal City 51, Spring Valley Hall 47: At the Seneca Shipyard Showdown, the Coalers (10-3) took home third place with the win.
Lincoln-Way East 54, Pleasant Plains 48: At the Effingham/Teutopolis Tournament, the Griffins brought home third place with the triumph. East’s Brendan Sanders, who scored a career-high 27 in the win, and Will Buchanan were named to the all-tournament team.
Lyons 46, Minooka 42: At the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic, Zane Caves led the Indians with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Lexington 52, Seneca 44: At the Seneca Shipyard Showdown, the Irish (12-3) fell in the title game as the Minutemen repeated.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lincoln-Way East 42, Providence Catholic 36: Molly Knight led the Celtics with 14 points in the third-place game at the Sandburg Holiday Classic, while teammate Taylor Healy had nine. Knight – who scored her 1,000th career point in the game – was named to the all-tournament team, as was Lincoln-Way East’s Alaina Vargas.
Minooka 52, Andrew 36: At the Sandburg Holiday Classic, Minooka finished with a 3-1 record with the victory. Madelyn Kiper, who was named all-tournament, led the Indians with 20 points. Naya Carter and Kora Kotowski each scored 10.
Lockport 48, Hersey 40: The Porters (16-3) took third place in the Loyola Christmas Tournament with the win.
Lincoln-Way Central 35, Lincoln-Way West 22: The Knights got the win in the seventh-place game at the Loyola Christmas Tournament. Central’s Brooke Baechtold made six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 20 points.
Coal City 42, Rosary 32: At the Lisle Tournament, Kylee Kennell led the Coalers (8-5) with 16 points.
Seneca 50, Westmont 23: At the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic, Alyssa Zellers led the Irish (11-4) with 14 points, while Tessa Krull added nine.
