Coal City dominates in boys basketbal win over Dwight: The Herald-News Friday Roundup

Dixon wins boys basketball; Providence, Morris win girls basketball

Boys basketball

Coal City 63, Dwight 35: Five Coalers scored in double figures to help Coal City to a nonconference victory.

Gavin Berger, Zander Meents, Gabe McHugh, Julian Micetich and Dylan Young each scored 10-plus points. The Coalers improved to 11-3 on the season.

Dixon 60, Plainfield Central 34: Darius Harrington had 24 points and Eli Davidson added 15 as the Dukes (11-3) dominated in a nonconference win.

Girls basketball

Providence 55, New Trier 46: Kennady Kotowski put 19 points on the board to lead the Celtics to a win at the Grow the Game Showcase.

Molly Knight scored eight points with nine assists and nine rebounds, Taylor Healy had 11 points and Sadie Webb added nine.

Morris 53, Dixon 48: At Dixon, Morris battled and came out on top for a nonconference victory.
