Louie is a friendly 8-year-old yellow Labrador retriever that needs a special and understanding adopter. He was previously adopted shortly after he came to NAWS in 2017. He was recently relinquished back to NAWS after nipping at a toddler in his previous home when they touched his back end. He has arthritis and takes medication for his condition. Due to his past, Louie needs a home with older children who understand his boundaries. He enjoys leisurely walks, lying on his bed and belly rubs. To meet Louie, email Dogadoption@nawsus.org. Visit nawsus.org.
One-year-old Bonnie Lass was rescued with her kittens from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky, where they were at risk of euthanasia and placed in a loving foster home. Now that the kittens are old enough to be adopted, Bonnie Lass deserves her happily ever after, too. Bonnie Lass is curious, talkative, playful and friendly. She especially likes to talk at meal time. She will be a fun and loving addition to a home. To meet Bonnie Lass, email Catadoptions@nawsus.org. Visit nawsus.org.
Banjo is a sweet 2-year-old, 20-pound terrier mix. He has lots of energy, so he needs a yard for running and jumping. He has done well with most of the dogs he’s met at the shelter. Contact the Will County Humane Society at willcountyhumane.com and follow the instructions for the adoption process.
Fozzie Bear is a lovable senior tuxedo cat that needs a cozy retirement home without dogs or other cats. Fozzie loves attention and doesn’t mind snuggles and being held. He also enjoys watching the birds from a comfortable bed by a window. Contact the Will County Humane Society at willcountyhumane.com and follow the instructions for the adoption process.
Gus is sweet, playful, curious, intelligent and full of charm. Gus does well with pets and kids, making him the perfect companion for any family. He loves to explore and discover new toys, with little ball toys being his favorite. Gus also has quite an appetite. He once stole an entire chicken carcass, proving he knows how to find the best treats. He enjoys running around with his fellow kitties but can easily entertain himself when it’s time for a quiet moment. To meet Gus, visit ForgetMeNotRescue.com/adoptables.
Bella is sweet, easygoing and calm. She loves rubbing her face against the faces of those she loves and receiving endless pets. She loves to lounge and watch the world from the window. She’s the perfect companion for cozy bedtime cuddles. Bella may need a little patience to feel comfortable and would do best as the one and only pet in the home.
