A residential garage in Joliet sustained fire damage on Friday.
The Joliet Fire Department responded at 12:28 p.m. to a report of a house fire at 1720 Mystic Drive, according to a press release from the department.
Upon arrival, the crews found heavy fire coming from the attached garage and all residents were out of the home and accounted for, according to the release.
Crews knocked down the initial body of fire immediately before taking hose lines into the structure, according to the release. The fire was mostly contained to the garage area of the residence and was extinguished before it entered the living area, according to the release.
The scene was declared under control at 1:17 p.m. and there were no injuries or fatalities, according to the release. A dog and a cat were rescued from the building during search operations, according to the release.
