Students and staff at Joliet's Gompers Jr. High raise $1,600 for Pink Heals

Gompers Junior High students and staff recently raised $1,600 for the Joliet Area chapter of Pink Heals during the second annual Students vs. Faculty Basketball Fundraiser.

The staff notched a close 30-26 win.

Participating students included Antonio Bowers, Kavon Burnett, Grachell Carucho Valera, Leo Choncoa, Valentin Conejo, Cristhel Fajardo Crus, Camila Garcia, Timarean Garrett, Mariana Guzman, Willow Hardy, Caleb Lawler, Jesse Leon Hernandez, Eimy Revueltas Sanchez, Danna Tovar Pacheco, Candi Vargas, and Bryan Zermeno. Santa (seventh-grade science teacher Stephen Rummel-Chadderton) and the Gompers cheerleaders also participated.

Eighth-grade social studies teacher Amy Johnson and special education paraprofessional Amy Wendell-Blish coordinated the fundraiser.
