Coal City girls win thriller over Manteno: The Herald-News Monday Roundup

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Coal City 40, Manteno 38: Kylee Kennell got a steal and layup just before the final buzzer to give the Coalers the Illinois Central Eight win and move into a tie with Manteno for the league lead.

DeKalb 54, Plainfield South 45: The Cougars (8-10) came up short in the nonconference loss.

Lisle 36, Reed-Custer 31: Harlie Liebermann led the Comets (8-9, 2-5) with 13 points and nine rebounds in the Illinois Central Eight loss. Leah Grace added nine points and six rebounds.

Momence 48, Gardner-South Wilmington 18: Grace Olsen led the Panthers (4-15) in the loss with nine points, while Maddie Simms added six.

BOYS BOWLING

Lockport 2,227, Plainfield East 1,767: Austin LiCausi led Lockport with a two-game series of 499 in the nonconference win.
