Seneca shuts out Manteno in boys wrestling victory: The Herald-News Wednesday Roundup

Joliet Central wins boys wrestling, Wilmington wins boys basketball

Boys wrestling

Seneca 78, Manteno 0: Michael Kucinic and Parker Jones were two of many wrestlers for the Fighting Irish who contributed wins during a dual meet Wednesday. Ryan Flynn and Chase Rod also had wins.

Seneca 68, St. Bede 12: Chris Thompson and Raiden Terry each had wins for the Fighting Irish for a dual victory. Wyatt Coop and Ryker Terry also had wins.

Joliet Central 42, Plainfield South 27: The Steelmen dominated for a Southwest Prairie Conference victory. Joel Aguirre, David Calderon, Xavier Eggert, Charles Walker, Aleck Allende and Jowel Maldonado each had wins by fall. The Steelmen improve to 4-0 in conference.

Girls wrestling

Lockport 42, Oak Forest 36: At Oak Forest, the Porters battled to a dual victory.

Lockport 69, St. Laurence 18: At Oak Forest, the Porters dominated for a dual win.

Boys basketball

Wilmington 51, Gardner-South Wilmington 22: The Wildcats earned a nonconference victory.

Girls basketball

Dwight 47, Reed-Custer 26: At Braidwood, the Comets came up short in nonconference play. Alyssa Wollenzien had 11 points, two steals and two rebounds for Reed-Custer. Kamryn Wilkey and Leah Grace combined to add 10 points.
