Will County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash at 135th Street and Archer Avenue in unincorporated Homer Township that has resulted in at least one person dead.
Police have been at the scene since about 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Initial reports indicate that a vehicle with three people inside went off the roadway into a retention pond early Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
One person inside of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
Two other occupants were taken to nearby hospitals, one in critical condition and one appeared to have non life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
135th Street at Archer and also Gordon Lane near Lemont remain closed Wednesday morning until traffic investigators complete and clear the scene.
