Plainfield East 79, Plainfield South 72 (OT): At Plainfield, KJ Miller drained a school record eight 3-pointers as the Bengals pulled out the overtime win. Miller finished with 33 points for East (11-17, 6-7 in the SPC). Kobe Jordan added 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Bengals.
Joliet Central 47, Plainfield Central 32: At Joliet, the Steelmen picked up their third win of the season by taking down the Wildcats in a Southwest Prairie Conference game.
Lincoln-Way Central 64, Andrew 51: At New Lenox, Korey Cagnolatti led all scorers with 22 points as the Knights took the SouthWest Suburban Conference game. Luca Andresen added 12 and Kevin Barrett added 10 for LWC (19-9, 8-6).
Lemont 65, Bremen 38: At Lemont, Gabriel Sularski scored 16 and Alanas Castillo added 15 as Lemont remained unbeaten in the South Suburban Conference. Matas Gaidukevicius finished with 14 for Lemont (20-7, 11-0).
Herscher 60, Coal City 49: At Coal City, the Coalers dropped the Illinois Central Eight contest to drop to 18-8, 8-4 in the ICE.
Sandburg 59, Lincoln-Way West 53: At Orland Park, Drake Been led the Warriors with 15 points in the SWSC setback to the Golden Eagles. Max Gabriel added 14 for West (12-14, 5-9).
Lockport, 85 Shepard 42: At Palos Heights, Collin Miller led a balanced Porters' attack with 15 points as Lockport (18-9) took the nonconference win. Bryce Turner added 14 and Izeyah Pruitt finished with 12 points and eight boards.
Bolingbrook 78, Oswego East 59: At Bolingbrook, Davion Thompson went off, scoring 38 points as the Raiders cruised in the Southwest Prairie Conference. JT Pettigrew added 17 for Bolingbrook (25-3, 12-0).
Plainfield North 52, Minooka 50: At Minooka, the Tigers won their seventh straight behind 20 points from Pierre Pointer. Darin Ashiru added 13 for North (16-9, 8-5 in the SPC).
Wilmington 69, Lisle 54: At Wilmington, Lucas Rink scored a game-best 21 to lead the Wildcats to the Illinois Central Eight win. Ryan Nelson added 17 and Brysen Meents 12 for Wilmington (17-8, 7-5).
Peotone 54, Reed-Custer 44: At Braidwood, Jacob Reardon went for 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Comets fell to the Blue Devils in the ICE contest. Collin Monroe added 14 for RC (8-18, 2-10). Peotone improved to 12-12 overall and 4-6 in the ICE.
Woodland 59, Dwight 51: At Streator, the Trojans saw a slim halftime lead fade away in the loss to the Warriors. Dwight fell to 12-14 on the year, 4-3 in the Tri-County conference.
Providence Catholic 63, Aurora Central Catholic 32: At Aurora, freshman Kelechi Enyia scored 29 as the Celtics cruised to the road win. Seth Chaney added 10 for PC (9-18, 2-4).
Seneca 75, Low-Point Washburn 41: At Washburn, the Irish picked up their 23rd win of the season with the win.
Girls basketball
Kaneland 55, Morris 51: At Morris, Landrie Callahan scored 19 and Layken Callahan added 16 as Morris fell in the Interstate 8 to the Knights. Lily Hansen added 11 points for Morris (22-5, 6-3).
Girls bowling
Andrew Regional: At Palos Hills, Lockport captured the regional title led by junior Brooke Stroud. Stroud had the top series at the regional of 1,266. Taylor Lane, Grace Szmergalski and Lindsay Dunagen will advance to the Plainfield North Sectional next weekend. The Tigers also advanced by finishing second. Kendal Leprich rolled a 1,206 series to lead North. Jackie Held, Kelci Keeton and Ellie Boley move to the sectional. Amber Bozych of Plainfield East, Payton Zulfer of Bolingbrook, Kayla Esquivel of Romeville and Claire Young and Emilia Kroplewski of Lemont advanced as individuals to the sectional.
Competitive Cheerleading
IHSA State Championships: At Hoffman Estates, Lockport currently sits in first place in the large school division after day one of the competitive cheerleading state championships. Lincoln-Way West and Minooka also made the cut into Saturday’s finals. At the Medium team level, Providence Catholic and Morris sit third and fourth, respectively. Wilmington advanced to the finals in the small school division in ninth place.
