Good news for kids of all ages.

Santa Claus is leaving Joliet on Saturday and returning to the North Pole to ensure the toys are ready for delivery on Christmas Eve.

Members of the Joliet Police and Fire departments will escort Santa through Joliet, and the community is invited to attend and wave their holiday greetings and good wishes to Santa.

The Santa Sendoff will begin at 10 a.m. from Joliet Fire Station 4, located at 814 Draper Ave. The sendoff will wind through the east side of Joliet toward the city’s west side.

Joliet has made it easy to follow the routes, too, as their posted on the city’s Facebook andTwitter accounts. Just pick a spot convenient to you and wave your greetings to Santa.

The sendoff will end at Plainfield South High School, located at 7800 Caton Farm Ave. in Plainfield.

All attendees must wear a facemask, practice social distancing and remain on the sidewalk at a safe distance from the street.

Candy will not be distributed during the parade.
