Fifty-seven Joliet Central and West band students participated in honor band

Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Band event was held virtually Feb. 16

Fifty-seven Joliet Central and West band students were selected as members of the Southwest Prairie Conference (SPC) Honor Band. The event was held virtually on Feb. 16.

Fifty-seven Joliet Central and West band students were selected as members of the Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Band.

The Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Band Festival was held virtually on Feb. 16 due to the pandemic. The students also participated in music clinics.

Bobby Lambert, director of bands at Wando High School, South Carolina and division head of the Music for All Drum Major Academy, gave the keynote address.

The following students from Joliet Central and Joliet West participated:

Joliet Central SPC Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band: Kessly Gomez, Anthony Calderon, Kevin Guzman, Eduardo Mendez, Savannah Grubbs, Maya Hernandez, Brandon Duering, Melanie Lopez, Taylor Cicero, Jose Perez, Joseis Dixon, Christian Villagomez, Zach Riley, and Samantha Jimenez.

Joliet West SPC Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band: Phoebe Chellino, Sam Coffey, Angela Conde, Reid Hogan, Callie Kranz, Wilson McGuire, Derrick Neal, Max Racutt, Myles Shackelford, Aaron Strong, and Elizabeth Wellman.

Joliet Central SPC Junior/Senior Honor Band: Tony Toledo, Devon Thomas, Cajly Gray, Adkins Jones, Zander Cremer, Lanie Cremer, Kai Frey, Abraham Ortiz, Rachael Gudeman, Joy Kipkiyeny, Jack McKee, Nancy Terrazas, Sergio Zavala, Isaiah Dixon, and Scarlett Chavez.

Joliet West SPC Junior/Senior Honor Band members are Abby Athern, Claire Athern, Benjamin Babich, Tabitha Barowsky, Layne Barry, Olivia Eldred, Ava Grutzius, Molly Huntington, Micah Klima, Claire Kranz, Paola Lozada, Ellen Lundeen, William Mendez, Carson Mullins, Tehya Venegas, Julie Wang, and Sean Zarobsky.

Don Stinson is the director of bands at Joliet Central. Eric Wellman and Alyson Bauman direct the bands at Joliet West.
