The Morris Hospital Auxiliary has changed its 26th annual golf tournment to an 18-hole virtual event.
The tournament, originally to be held in person on Sept. 20, will now run virtually from Sept. 20 to Oct. 22, according to a news release from Morris Hospital. The cost is $50 per person.
Proceeds will support two programs: patient transporation (provides people in the community with free rides to medical appointments) and Lifeline (provides immediate access to emergency help for people who live alone).
Here’s how to participate in the in the Morris Hospital Auxiliary Virtual Golf Tournament.
* Golf at a course of your choice from Sept. 20 to Oct. 22. Non-members may golf at the Morris Country Club and The Creek in Morris (excluding weekends) for a $50 greens fee. This includes a cart. Be sure to mention the Morris Hospital Virtual Golf Tournament when scheduling tee times.
* Keep track of your score.
* Take a picture of the scorecard.
* Submit the scorecard electronically to the Morris Hospital Auxiliary office or in-person to the Morris Country Club Pro Shop ( if playing at Morris Country Club or The Creek) by 5 p.m. Oct. 22.
Morris Hospital will post the golf results and winners onlin on Oct. 25. Cash prizes are $500 (best score), $250 (second place) and $100 (third place).
Golf Ball Raffle is open to those age 18 and up. Cash prize is $1,00. Chances are $20 for one, $50 for three, or $100 for seven.
One may also make outright donations to the patient transportation and Lifeline programs are also accepted.
