The Lincoln-Way Foundation’s “Love of Lincoln-Way” virtual gala Feb. 12 will feature a special appeal this year, according to a news release from the foundation.
The foundation is also hoping to raise enough funds to purchase a $30,000 CNC Plasma Machine to benefit students in the welding, 3D machining and engineering physics classes, the release said.
Not only would the purchase impact hundreds of students, but students in welding 1 and welding 2 receive dual credit with Joliet Junior College, according to the release.
Bob Kennedy, executive director of the foundation said in the release that “the foundation looks to continue to support ‘trade programs’ as we donated eight welding machines previously to this award-winning program.”
The virtual gala will start at 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed from Lincoln-Way Central. Attendees may browse and bid on more than 100 items donated for this event by visiting lwef2022.givesmart.com.
Winners must pick up their items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 or 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Lincoln-Way Central Auditorium. Winners pay the full cost of shipping any items, the release said.
The foundation’s mission is to “creatively generate financial support” in order to “enrich and enhance the opportunities and educational experiences of Lincoln-Way High School District 210 students,” the release said.
