The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 in Joliet will hold its first “Women Who Rock” concert on March 4.

The event is to celebrate International Women’s History Month in March and International Women’s Day in particular on March 8, according to a news release from the museum.

The concert will take place from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Forge located at 22 W. Cass St. in Joliet.

The following artists are schedule to perform: Beyond The Blonde, Ava Morse, Donna Rice & The Wild Blue Band, Lindsay Kent of Gen FuZe, Karen Hart in Vinyl Vixens, Lukara and Chasing Amy.

Radio and television personality Dolly McCarthy will emcee the event.

“This benefit concert will showcase female singers and musicians and emphasize the importance of live entertainment in our community,” Ron Romero, museum founder and chairman, said in the release. “It will also bring an awareness of the enormous talent base in the region.

Romero said in the release that the concert will also highlight the museum’s mission, which is “to collect, preserve and exhibit artifacts of Illinois artists who have reached national and international recognition.”

“And to provide enlightening educational programs,” Romero said, according to the release.

Pre-sale tickets are available at www.RoadToRock.org. Proceeds benefit the museum, a registered nonprofit organization. Part of its mission is to support artists in the music industry and performing arts in the form of scholarships and donations.
