Will County residents asked to fill out survey on COVID-19 vaccine

The Will County Health Department is asking residents to fill out a survey as it plans for its COVID-19 vaccination program.

The survey is designed to assist the department in planning for distributing vaccines in the coming months. The survey is for Will County residents only.

Questions included in the survey were developed from limited and preliminary guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

The survey includes questions about what kind of industry the resident works in and other basic health questions that can determine if they are in a high risk category.

Last week, Will County received its first batch of nearly 5,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to give to health care workers.

Will County Health Department spokesman Steve Brandy said the first allocation of the Moderna vaccine is expected to come to the county in the next few days. The county is expecting to receive about 8,300 doses in its first allocation of the Moderna vaccine.

The county has recorded over 50,000 cases of COVID-19 and nearly 700 deaths since March.
