The White Oak Library District hopes to raise its taxing rate for the first time in 96 years with a voter referendum on the April 1 ballot in order to expand hours and services.

A forum for Joliet City Council at-large candidates will be held on Feb. 19 at the Joliet Public Library on Ottawa Street. Joliet residents may submit questions in advance.

Six Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees candidates are running for the April 1 election and two of them have pending lawsuits against the college that challenge censure and appointment votes.
