Shorewood Lions recognizes students for citizenship, positive, participation

Troy School District 30-C announces its students of the month for January

During the Troy Community School District 30-C school board’s February meeting, the school board recognized the Shorewood Lions Club January 2021 Students of the Month.

These students attend William B. Orenic Intermediate School in Plainfield and Troy Middle School in Plainfield.

The January 2021 students of the month at William B. Orenic Intermediate School are the following sixth-graders: Elijah Grossman, Lauren Krohn, Cassidy Malloy and Daniel Morales.

The January 2021 students of the month at Troy Middle School include seventh-graders Daniel Lukancic, Robert Malinowski, Micah Polk and Calloway Walsh as well as eighth-graders Ogheneruror Anighoro, Jimena Ortiz, David Reyes and Riley Wylie.

These students were selected based on their consistent effort, productive citizenship, positive attitude and participation in class,” according to a news release from the school district.

The Shorewood Lions Club presented the students with Student of the Month certificates and $10 Amazon gift cards.

The Shorewood Lions Club helps Troy Township persons in need who have problems with vision or hearing. The club helps these people obtain glasses and hearing aids and other related equipment and even seeing eye dogs. The club also helps children who are sight or heraing-impaired reigster for the Camp Lions summer camp.
