Shorewood Lions honor Troy students for effort and attitude

Troy Community School District 30-C school board recognized the students at board meetings in February and March

The Shorewood Lions Club recently honored students at William B. Orenic Intermediate School and Troy Middle School.

The Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C school board recognized these Students of the Month at its district board meetings in January and February.

These students were selected “on the basis of consistent effort, productive citizenship, positive attitude and participation in class, according to a news release from the school district.

The students received certificates as well as 10 Amazon gift cards from the Shorewood Lions Club.

January Students of the Month

William B. Orenic Intermediate School sixth grade students: Elijah Grossman, Lauren Krohn, Cassidy Malloy and Daniel Morales.

Troy Middle School seventh grade students: Daniel Lukancic, Robert Malinowski, Micah Polk and Calloway Walsh.

Troy Middle School eighth grade students: Ogheneruror Anighoro, Jimena Ortiz, David Reyes and Riley Wylie.

February Students of the Month

William B. Orenic Intermediate School sixth grade students: Finn Baker, Shane Browder, Grace Smith and Lily Swan.

Troy Middle School seventh grade students: Delaney Gallegos, Khristian Lestz, Sydney Sleyko and Henry Young.

Troy Middle School eighth grade students: Ava Kowynia, Kaley Rossini, Armani Sealy and Andrea Uzdzinski.

About the Shorewood Lions Club

The Shorewood Lions Club helps needy persons in Troy Township who have sight or hearing problems.

The club helps them obtain get glasses, hearing aids and seeing eye dogs. Club members also help children who are sight- or hearing-impaired sign up for Camp Lions in the summer.

Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C was founded 1949. It serves students in Pre-K through grade eight in Shorewood, Channahon, Crest Hill and unincorporated Troy Township.
