New hearing clinic comes to Will County

Health Department, Community Health Center partnered with Americans for Better Hearing Foundation

Will County residents now have a new opportunity to improve their hearing health.

The Will County Health Department, Will County Community Health Center and Americans for Better Hearing Foundation, are opening the ABHF Hearing Health Clinic in the WCCHC at 1106 Neal Ave. in Joliet.

A licensed audiologist at the clinic will provide “hearing testing and diagnostics, hearing aids, hearing aid repairs and batteries,” according to a news release from the health department.

Patients need an order from a doctor or nurse practitioner to receive these services. Most private insurances are accepted. A sliding fee scale is available for patients who meet income eligibility, the release said.

Those with Medicare may receive free hearing testing and hearing aids and other services at a reduced rate. Those with Medicaid coverage may be eligible to receive free hearing testing, hearing aids, batteries and repairs, the release said.
