The Three Rivers Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators named Cathie Pezanoski Superintendent of Distinction.
Pezanoski has served as superintendent of Elwood Community Consolidated School District 203 for nine years and as an educator for 35 years, according to a news release from the Illinois Association of School Administrators
She was one of 21 IASA regional Superintendents of Distinction that were recognized at a May 5 lunch in Springfield. State Superintendent Carmen Ayala was the featured speaker.
Each Superintendent of Distinction was nominated by peers in their regions based on their commitment. According to the news release, those nominating Pezanoski for the award said she “built a true Elwood School family that includes staff, students and families.”
In addition, Pezanoski oversaw a continuous improvement of student achievement, developed an effective preschool program, maintained fiscal responsibility to community taxpayers, and implemented a “whole child” approach to education. This approach included the students’ social and emotional growth and a focus for fine arts and performing arts.
The Three Rivers Region is comprised of Will, Kankakee, Grundy and Kendall counties.
