It’s beginning to look like 2019 in Will County, everywhere I go. Take a look at just where we’ve been, the calendar’s full again, with festivals and fireworks that glow.

Yes, festivals and fireworks - and some good music, too.

Lockport is hosting its annual Old Canal Days this weekend, starting 5 p.m. Thursday and ending 10 p.m. Sunday with a fireworks show. The festival site is located at 301 W. 2nd St. in Lockport. Features include family friendly activities, a carnival, artisan market, live music and history tours.

Live @Lunch Acoustic Music Series

Come on down to Van Buren Street Plaza from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday and enjoy an acoustic performance featuring The Jib Brothers Band while enjoyng your brown bag lunch or carryout from a downtown Joliet restaurant. The stage is directly across the Rialto Square Theatre.

The event is free (no need to register) but you will have to bring your own chair.

Concerts on the Hill

The 47th annual “Concerts On The Hill” returns to the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre in Joliet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

“Concerts of the Hill” is a free, weekly concert on Thursday nights and will run through Aug. 26. Performers for this week include vocalist Andrew David and returning duo Echo & Ransom.

Corduroy Cat

Come celebrate Record Store Day Audiophil’s Records, located at 17 East VanBuren St., Suite 17E, Joliet, with live music for Corduroy Cat. The performance begins at 11:30 a.m. The event is free. For more information, visit facebook.com/CorduroyCatMusic.
