AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet has new chief medical officer

Position took effect for board-certified pathologist Dr. Kalisha Hill on June 13

Dr. Kalisha Hill has been promoted to the role of regional chief medical officer for AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet and AMITA Health St. Mary’s Hospital Kankakee effective Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Since February 2017, board-certified pathologist Dr. Kalisha Hill has served as the chief medical officer for AMITA St. Mary’s Kankakee.

Hill was recently named regional chief medical officer for AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet and AMITA Health St. Mary’s Hospital Kankakee. Hill’s promotion took effect on June 13, according to a news release from AMITA Health.

In addition, Hill chairs several hospital committees AMITA Health St. Mary’s Kankakee, including the quality and safety committee. Hill also continues to serve as the medical director for pathology at AMTA Health St. Mary’s Kankakee, the release said.

She was previously the physician advisor for AMITA Health St. Mary’s Kankakee and the interim chief medical officer for AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet, the release said.

Hill is a board member of UpliftedCare in Bourbonnais and a governor for the College of American Pathologists, the release said.

She is also the immediate past-president of the Illinois Society of Pathologists and recipient of the CAP Distinguished Patient Care Award, the release said.

Hill completed her medical residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after graduating from medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the release said.

She earned her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City and her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, the release said.

Hill is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the release said.
