USF student elected to the Illinois Certification board of directors

Monika Gomez began her term earlier in July

Monika Gomez, a student and 2021 graduate of the University of St. Francis in Joliet, was elected to a two-year term on the Illinois Certification Board.

Gomez graduated cum laude from USF in May with a bachelor’s degree in substance abuse counseling. She then started coursework at USF toward a master’s degree in social work with the goal of becoming a licensed clinical social worker.

She began her term on the ICB newly created board earlier in July. Gomez will represent students enrolled in ICB-accredited training programs in Illinois.
