12 local students receive scholarships from Joliet Junior College Faculty Union

The Joliet Junior College Faculty Union recently awarded $7,200 in scholarships to assist 12 local students.

Gifts ranged between $500 and $700. The 12 students are either attending JJC, a four-year school, or transferring from JJC to a four-year school, according to a news release from JJC.

The recipients are:

• Nicholas Angus of Ottawa: $700

• Abigail Cheblana of Plainfield: $500

• Annabel Cheblana of Plainfield: $500

• Lily Hochhalter of Manhattan: $500

• Carla Lozano of Joliet: $700

• Daniel McNulty of New Lenox: $500

• Elizabeth Miller of Mokena: $700

• Katherine Miller of Mokena: $700

• Brendan Mills of Plainfield: $500

• Simone Robinson-Stevens of Morris: $700

• Carmen Trillo of Bolingbrook: $500

ª Brighid Zelko of Minooka: $700
