Alyssa Dearth, a board-certified nurse pratitioner, has joined Morris Hospital Cardiovascular Specialists.
Dearth, who has 13 years of nursing experience, will work with cardiologists Dr. Syed Ahmed, Dr. Mary Gordon and Dr. Athar Saeed and see patients at the Channahon and Morris offices.
She will help manage blood pressure management and cholesterol management and help in the treatment of circulation problems of the lower extremities, heart disease and heart failure, according to a news release from Morris Hospital.
Dearth has a “diverse background in cardiac electrophysiology, interventional radiology and neurology,” the release said. She “gained specialized knowledge in pacemakers, defibrillators, arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation and atrial flutters” in the seven years she worked as an advanced practice nurse in cardiac electrophysiology, the release said.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in Charleston and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of St. Francis in Joliet. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She moved to Morris with her husband two years ago.
The Morris Hospital Cardiovascular Specialists has offices at 27240 W. Saxony Drive in Channahon, 101 S. Prairie Ave. in Dwight, 151 W. High St. in Morris, and 1300 Starfire Dr. in Ottawa.
