Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will expand orthopedic services to the Diamond-Coal City area now that a longtime local orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician has joined its practice, according to a news release from Morris Hospital.
Dr. Stephen Treacy, first joined the Morris Hospital medical staff in 1996, has joined the Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine practice. The practice became affiliated with Morris Hospital in June.
Other members of the practice include Dr. Mir Ali, Dr. Raymond Meyer, Dr. Kyle Pearson, Dr. Keith Rezin and Dr. Robert Williams.
Treacy, who is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, “treats patients with injuries, fractures and conditions of the upper and lower extremities, including the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, and specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery,” the release said.
He will see patients at the Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine offices at 1051 W. U.S. Route 6 in Morris, 1310 Houbolt Road in Joliet, and at the Morris Hospital Diamond-Coal City Campus, 1450 E. Division St., in Diamond.
Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine also has an office at 1306 Gemini Circle, Suite 2, in Ottawa.
Treacy earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency and general surgery internship at Tulane University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, the release said.
He is also fellowship trained, “having studied sports medicine at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi,” the release said.
Treacy was born and raised in Naperville. He is married and has three children, the release said.
