New Lenox church continues tradition of free Thanksgiving dinner to the community

Like many famlies, Peace Lutheran Church in New Lenox has a cherished Thanksgiving meal tradition.

Each year for 25 years, the church has provided a free Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day, which is Nov. 25 this year, no questions asked.

But you must reserve the meal by Nov. 18 by calling the church office at 815-485-5327. The church will assign you a time between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day for curbside pickup at the church, located at1900 E. Lincoln Highway, directly across from Lincoln-Way Central High School, in New Lenox.

If you need the meal delivered, Peace Lutheran will provide an approximate delivery time. Just like last year, dine-in is not an option.
