Shorewood native’s crossword puzzle will be featured in Saturday’s Herald-News

Jeff Kremer’s puzzle, titled ‘Garage Sale Pitches,’ also featured in the Nov. 28 edition of The New York Times,

Jeff Kremer started creating his own crossword puzzles during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to alleviate boredom.

Soon Kremer, a Shorewood native and Joliet West High School alumnus, began submitting his puzzles to The New York Times. The publication ran one of Kremer’s puzzles, “Garage Sale Pitches,” on Nov. 28.

Now readers of The Herald-News can work that puzzle, too, in this Saturday’s edition.

Kremer is creating and submitting puzzles to various publications, “so hopefully this isn’t a one and done,” Kremer said in a Nov. 26 Herald-News story.

Kremer and his wife Heather now live in Chicago with their children Calvin (who actually does have a Hobbes stuffed toy), 4 and Hazel, 18 months.

His parents, Ron, a former Herald-News reporter, and Jolene, live in Shorewood.
