Kathy Scheiper brings her parks and recreation experience to Plainfield Park District

Plainfield resident Kathy Scheiper was recently hired as a recreation supervisor overseeing special events for the Plainfield Park District.

Scheiper has spent more than seven years working in the parks and recreation field, according to a news release form the district.

She most recently served as the events and corporate service manager at Addison Park District, creating programs that increased participation: Letters to Santa, Unplug Illinois and Movies in the Park, according to the release.

Scheiper was the programs supervisor at Darien Park District in 2019, the program director and coordinator manager at Westmont Yard Indoor Sports Complex from 2015 to 2018 and a manager at Sports R Us from 2014 to 2016, according to the release.

Sports R Us is a “youth sports instruction company servicing park districts, grade schools and recreation departments,” according to the release.

Scheiper earned her bachelor’s degree in business sports management from Lewis University of Romeoville. She lives in Plainfield with her husband Joe, according to the release.
