17 students at Plainfield high schools to participate in all-state music program

Seventeen high school student musicians who attended high schools at District 202 in Plainfield will participate in a prestigious music festival in January, according to a news release from District 202.

The students named to the annual Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Student Programs for Band, Chorus, Jazz, and Orchestra attend Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield North High School and Plainfield East High School, the release said.

The ILMEA program will take place from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29 in Peoria, according to the release.

The following students were accepted:

Plainfield HighSchool-Central Campus

Jazz band:

· Lucas Forbear, senior – bass trombone

Composition contest:

· Will Snydersmith, senior, third place

Future Music Educator Symposium:

· Kaelyn Witt, senior

Plainfield North High School

Choir:

· Blake Barnickel, senior – Tenor II, All-State Honors Vocal Jazz

· Joey Bonasera, junior – Bass 1, All-State Choir

· Emma Rizzo, junior - Alto 2, All-State Honors Choir

· Ella Schuler, sophomore – Soprano 2, All-State Honors Choir

Band:

· Sara Przybylski, senior – clarinet

Future Music Educator Symposium:

· Ian Curless, senior

· Mary Carmen Hernandez-Mora, senior

Plainfield East High School

Choir:

· Alexa Gangoso, senior - Soprano 1, All-State Choir

· Amanda Rissman, senior - Soprano 1, All-State Choir

· Sofia Berzosa, senior - Alto 1, All-State Honors Choir

· Gabriella Longo, senior - Soprano 2, All-State Honors Choir
