2 Joliet Central H.S. students qualify for state drafting competition

Joliet Central placed 1st and 3rd in regional drafting contest

Joliet Central High School students Sergio Zavala and Kimberly Martinez have qualified for the state drafting competition, according to a news release from Joliet Township High School District 204.

Zavala and Martinez competed virtually in the regional drafting contest in February and March, according to the release. The state drafting competition will take place April 23 at Illinois State University.

Zavala earned first place in the assembly modeling division. Martinez placed third in the 3D CAD modeling division. Students had to complete their division-based drafting problems within two hours, according to the release.
