9 students at D-202 in Plainfield named 2022 National Merit Finalists

Awards will be announced this spring.

Nine students from Plainfield High School – Central Campus, and Plainfield East and North high schools are amongabout 15,000 National Merit Scholarship 2021-22 finalists nationwide. Nine students from Plainfield School District 202 were named National Merit Finalists for 2022.

The students, who attend Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield East and Plainfield North high schools, are among about 15,000 finalists nationwide, according to a news release from District 202. The program is in its 67th year, according to the release said.

These students are competing for 7,500 National Merit Scholarship awards, which are worth about $30 million. The awards will be announced this spring, according to the release.
