Board at D. 202 in Plainfield approves the hiring of 4 new district administrators

Administrators will replace peers who are retiring and help fill top-level district administrative team

Plainfield School District 202

The Plainfield School District 202 board of education recently approved the hiring of four district-level administrators, according to a news release from the district.

These administrators will replace peers who are retiring at the end of the 2021-22 school year, according to the release. The administrators will also help fill the top-level district administrative team because current Associate Superintendent Glenn Wood will serve next year as superintendent of schools. Wood will replace Lane Abrell, who is retiring in June, according to the release.

Here are details about the four administrators, according to the release

Paula Sereleas

Sereleas currently is the director for middle school curriculum and instruction. She will serve as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. She is replacing Wood.

She grew up in England and came to the U.S. at age 17 on an athletic scholarship. She ran Division I Track and cross country at DePaul University.

Sereleas started her education career in 1996 by teaching social studies at Lincoln Way East High School. She joined District 202 in 2014 in her current role.

Ryan Schlott

Schlott is the assistant technology administrator/manager of information services for District 202. He will replace Margie Bonuchi as the new district technology administrator. Bonuchi is retiring in June.

Schlott came to District 202 in 2006 as a network administrator. He moved into the MIS role in 2012 and became assistant director in 2019.

Curtis Alsip

Alsip currently is the assistant director for maintenance and grounds. He will serve as the new director of facilities. Paul Gonzalez is the current director. Gonzalez will retire in June.

He worked for District 202 from 1999 to 2013 as a maintenance specialist.

From 2013 to 2021, Alsip served in maintenance and operation roles for Joliet Township High School District 204 and a school district in LaGrange.

In 2021, Alsip returned to District 202 in in his current role.

Julie Anderson

Anderson currently is District 202′s special education administrator. She will serve as the new director for elementary student services. Anderson will replace Cheril Phillips, who is also retiring in June.

From 2009 to 2018, Anderson was the speech language pathologist for Lakewood Falls and Liberty elementary schools as well as Plainfield Academy. She also worked in the private sector for several years.

From 2018 to 2020, Anderson was District 202′s speech language pathologist supervisor.
