The Edward Foundation recently awarded $26,000 in nursing scholarships to Edward Hospital employees, according to a news release from Edward-Elmhurst Health.
All employees, who were recognized in a ceremony on Feb. 24, are pursuing degrees or advanced degrees in nursing, the release.
According to the release, these employees received $2,000 nursing scholarships:
• Faith Almieri, registered nurse, cardiac-neuro ICU, Aurora
• Lindsay Cerchio, registered nurse, ICU, Downers Grove
• Sandi Darnell, registered nurse, Bolingbrook Immediate Care, Naperville
• Christina Deacy, registered nurse, perioperative services, Naperville
• Lee Ann Grabon, registered nurse, cardiac catheterization lab, Plainfield
• Prerna Malhotra, registered nurse, perioperative services, Aurora
• Natasha Oehlerking, registered nurse, emergency department, Montgomery
• Kati Sibenaller, registered nurse, Edward Medical Group – Yorkville, Plano
• Jada Sims, registered nurse, cardiac-neuro ICU, Romeoville
• Mercedes Strezo, patient care technician, cardiac telemetry, Crest Hill
• Nicole Ticknor, licensed practical nurse, population health, DeKalb
• John Walwer, RN, cardiac-neuro ICU, Naperville
In addition, Rachel Walker, a registered nurse from Glendale Heights, received a $2,000 Agnes A. Book Memorial Nursing Scholarship,
“The annual scholarship originated from a fund established by the Book family in memory of their mother, who was a nurse at Edward for more than 20 years,” according to the release.
