Annual ‘Fishing for a Cure’ set for April 30 at Braidwood Lake in Braceville

Proceeds will benefit Advocate Children’s Hospital.

Exelon’s “Fishing for a Cure” volunteers have raised more than $500,000 for local charities over the fundraiser’s 16-year history. “Fishing for a Cure” is Braidwood Generating Station’s signature fundraising event.

Constellation’s Braidwood Generating Station’s 21st Fishing for a Cure will be held April 30 at Braidwood Lake’s Kankakee Road ramp in Braceville.

Anglers will compete for guaranteed cash prizes: $4,000 (first place), second place $2,500 (second place), $1,000 (third place), $500 (fourth, fifth and sixth place) and $250 (seventh through 10th place), according to a new release from Constellation.

Proceeds this year will benefit Advocate Children’s Hospital, according to the release.

The entry fee is $150 per team with all proceeds. The event will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
