The Bolingbrook boys and girls basketball teams both were ranked in the inaugural Associated Press basketball polls released Tuesday.
Bolingbrook’s girls team was the top ranked local squad. The Raiders received 40 voting points and were ranked No. 4 in the Class 4A poll, behind Hersey (56), Fremd (52) and Marist (48). Gardner-South Wilmington received one point in the Class 1A poll.
The Raiders boys’ team is ranked No. 9 in the Class 4A poll with nine points. They were the only local team to get votes in the boys poll.
Top-ranked teams for the boys were Chicago Simeon (Class 4A), Niles Notre Dame (Class 3A), Sacred Heart Griffin (Class 2A) and Yorkville Christian (Class 1A).
Top-ranked teams for the girls were Hersey (Class 4A), Chicago Simeon (Class 3A), Port Byron Riverdale (Class 2A) and Amboy (Class 1A).
BOYS BASKETBALL
Joliet Central 58, Joliet West 56 (OT): The Steelmen (2-2) got it done in extra time to pick up the win against the rival Tigers (2-2) in Southwest Prairie Conference action.
Minooka 56, Yorkville 46: Twelve-point efforts from Trevor Hudak and Jake Faron helped the Indians (2-1) to a Southwest Prairie Conference victory.
Bolingbrook 42, Lockport 28: The Raiders moved to 4-0 with a win over their SouthWest Suburban Conference foes as Michael Osei-Bonsu had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Matas Deksnys led the Porters (2-2) with 13 points.
Plainfield North 53, West Aurora 45: The Tigers moved to 2-2 overall with a strong fourth-quarter effort.
Lincoln-Way East 77, Lincoln-Way Central 49: The Griffins (1-3) had their way with the Knights, handing them their first loss of the season.
Nick Tingley led Lincoln-Way Central (4-1) with 12 points.
Herscher 64, Coal City 51 (OT): Nothing went right for the Coalers in the extra frame as they dropped to 1-2 on the year.
Stagg 60, Lincoln-Way West 56 (OT): The Warriors dropped to 0-3 with a tough overtime loss.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Providence 51, Joliet Catholic 48: Kelly Knight had 21 points for Providence in the win.
Megan Duzansky had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Celtics (3-1).
Senior Ashley Raymer surpassed 1,000 career points during Tuesday’s win.

Minooka 44, Yorkville 35: Maisy Caves had 13 points as Minooka (1-2) picked up its first win of the year.
Plainfield North 55, West Aurora 51: The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season with a narrow Southwest Prairie Conference victory.
Coal City 29, Herscher 25: The Coalers (1-3) earned a hard-fought Illinois Central Eight win.
Meghan Onsen had nine points for Coal City.
BADMINTON
Bolingbrook 10, Lincoln-Way Central 5: The Knights dropped to .500 (2-2) with a SouthWest Suburban Conference victory.
GIRLS BOWLING
Plainfield Central 2,571, Plainfield South 2,342: The Wildcats picked up a Southwest Prairie Conference win led by the efforts of Kait Pillion’s 234 high game and 594 series.
Plainfield South’s Laura Rohlfs recorded a 587 series.
Joliet Central 2,111, Plainfield North 1,867: Devon Thomas rolled a 495 series to help Joliet Central to a Southwest Prairie Conference win.
BOYS SWIMMING
Lincoln-Way West 111, Lincoln-Way Central 72: The Warriors toppled their district rivals in a SouthWest Suburban Conference matchup.
Sean Finley, Nate Fritz and Tristan Minarik each won two individual events for Lincoln-Way West.
