Ava Nepkin slammed eight kills, Kaleigh Ritter tallied 12 digs and four aces, and Lincoln-Way East’s girls volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a 25-15, 25-17 win over visiting Stagg in Southwest Suburban Conference action Thursday night.
Ali Sorenson and Abby Clarkin each had five kills for the Griffins.
Sandburg 2, Lincoln-Way Central 0: At Sandburg, the Knights lost, 25-17, 25-17, in SWCC action.
Lincoln-Way Central (0-4, 0-4 SWCC) was led by Rachel Kolodziej (five kills), Corissa Bradley (four assists, three aces) and Carli Udovich (six kills).
Coal City 2, Streator 0: At Streator, the Coalers earned their first win of the season, 25-14, 25-21, as Mia Rodriguez (four kills, four blocks, seven service points) and Macaya Garner (14 assists, two kills, four service points) helped lead the way.
Coal City (1-3) also received three blocks from Peyton Benson and three kills from Jayda Mills, while Grace Norris contributed four digs and eight service points, including an ace.
Minooka 2, Joliet Central 0: At Joliet Central, the Indians won, 25-12, 25-13, in Southwest Prairie Conference action as Heidi Bonde had six kills.
Anna Baranski totaled four kills, eight assists and two aces for Minooka (3-1).
Gardner-South Wilmington 2, Tri-Point 0: At Gardner-South Wilmington, the Panthers won, 25-15, 25-20, to improve to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the River Valley Conference.
Kylie Hawks and Grace Halpin each had five kills. Abby Beck added four kills and six digs, while Hannah Frescura had 17 assists and three kills. Hawks had six digs and two blocks, as well. Hawks, Halpin, Beck and Frescura each served one ace.

Gardner-South Wilmington 2, Grace Christian 0: At Gardner-South Wilmington, Grace Halpin had six kills, five digs, three assists and two aces to lead the Panthers to the 25-16, 25-20 win in RVC action.
Hannah Frescura served six aces while also dishing out 15 assists and posting two kills. GSW (3-0, 3-0) also received five kills and three digs from Kylie Hawks and four kills and 11 digs from Abby Beck.
BOYS SOCCER
Lincoln-Way Central 1, Sandburg 0: At Sandburg, Josh Stefans scored the SWCC game’s only goal, assisted by Eddie Rafacz.
Ryan Marszalak earned the shutout in goal for the Knights (3-1, 3-1 SWCC).
West Aurora 4, Minooka 1: At Minooka, Michael Ruettiger scored off an assist from Ben Joder for the Indians’ only goal in the SPC match.
Keeper Cade Ooms made four saves for Minooka (3-2, 3-2 SPC).
Lockport 3, Lincoln-Way West 0: At Lockport, up 1-0 at halftime, the Porters added a pair of second-half goals in he SWCC match.
Lisle 4, Coal City 2: At Lisle, Keegan Johnson had both of the Coalers’ goals.
Levi Counterman and Luke Hawkins had assists for Coal City, and keeper Colin Hart made 20 saves.

Lincoln-Way Central 21, Sandburg 15: At Lincoln-Way Central, Danny Adamson scored seven goals for the Knights in the SWCC match.
Cale Koester and Will Jager added four goals apiece for Lincoln-Way Central (3-0, 3-0 SWCC).
GIRLS WATER POLO
Lincoln-Way Central 9, Sandburg 6: At Sandburg, Anna Bethke and Mady Athos each scored four goals for the Knights, who improved to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the SWCC.

Moraine Valley 13, Joliet 7: Tony Fleischauer was 4 for 5 with a double and an RBI for the Wolves (9-9), and Doug Loden hit his third home run of the season with two runners aboard.
