Meet the 2022 Herald-News All-Area Boys Soccer Team

There was no shortage of talent in boys soccer this season.

Here is the 2022 Herald-News All-Area Boys Soccer Team:

FIRST TEAM

Plainfield North's Cooper Allen

Cooper Allen, Plainfield North, sr., F: Set the school record for both goals in a season and in a career. He also was an all-conference and all-state selection.

Victor Antomez

Victor Antomez, Joliet West, sr., F: Scored 17 goals and had six assists for the Tigers and was a all-conference selection.

Joseph Duarte

Joseph Duarte, Romeoville, sr. F: The Herald-News Player of the Year and all-state and all-conference. Scored 41 goals and had nine assists while leading the Spartans to their first state finals.

Diego Escobedo

Diego Escobedo, Minooka, jr., F: Scored 17 goals and had five assists for the Indians. Was named team MVP and was a all-conference and all-sectional pick.

Aldo Estrada

Aldo Estrada, Joliet Catholic Academy, sr., F: Scored 19 goal and had six assists. He had 45 goals and 13 assists in his career and was a four-year starter and team captain. Made all-conference and all-sectional teams.

Ben Gamino scored all three of Plainfield South's goals in a 3-1 win over Yorkville on Monday.

Ben Gamino, Plainfield South, sr., F: Gamino scored 13 goals for the Cougars this season and was a all-conference selection.

Demian Martinez

Demian Martinez, Romeoville, sr. M: Scored 13 goals with 12 assists for the Spartans, who finished second in Class 3A. He was an all-conference and all-sectional selection.

Luke Hawkins

Luke Hawkins, Coal City, sr., F: Scored 12 goals and had four assists. Finished his career with 45 goals, which is a school record. He was a four-year starter and captain and a two-time all-conference and all-sectional pick.

Danny Kuban

Danny Kuban, Reed-Custer, sr., F: Had 24 goals and seven assists this season and finished his career with 51 goals and 15 assists. He was a two-time all-conference and all-sectional selection.

Lucas Ortiz

Lucas Ortiz, Romeoville, sr., GK: Was in goal for 15 shutouts for the Spartans en route to their first state final appearance. Ortiz was an all-state and all-conference selection.

Justin Williams

Justin Williams, Plainfield North, sr., MF: Set the school record for assists in a career (45) and a season (23). He was an all-conference, all-sectional and All-Sectional Academic selection.
