The schools of The Herald-News area sent a multitude of athletes to the IHSA Girls Track and Field State Meet this spring in Charleston.Here are those state qualifiers, the 2024 Herald-News Girls Track and Field All-Area Honor Roll.

Lincoln-Way East junior Kyra Hayden, who ran on the state champion 4x400 relay and also qualified for state in the 100 and 300 hurdles, is The Herald-News girls track and field Athlete of the Year.

Lincoln-Way East freshman Alaina Steele held off a furious kick by Oregon-bound Allison Ince of Normal to win the Class 3A 4x400 relay state title, and Joliet Catholic sophomore Symone Holman took second in the long jump to lead area medalists at the IHSA state track meet.
