The Wilmington girls volleyball team last week was able to wrap up its first regional championship since 2015. After a 25-21, 25-15 win over Chicago University in Tuesday’s Class 2A Manteno Sectional semifinal, the Wildcats are now in their first sectional final since that year.
Sidney Hamaker had nine kills, four blocks and six digs as Oswego swept Joliet Weset 25-17, 25-19 in the Class 4A Bolingbrook Sectional semifinal. The Panthers advance to play Lockport Thursday for the program's first sectional championship.
Lockport rolled to a 25-8 win in the first set, but Lincoln-Way West rallied to win the second set 25-20 before Lockport scored a 25-23 win in the third to advance to Thursday's sectional final.
