Troy Township to host ‘Avoiding Home Repair Scams’ on April 21

Learn tips for making informed choices when hiring contractors

Troy Township will host “Avoiding Home Repair Scams” on Monday, April 21, 2022, at the Troy Township Community Center, 25448 Seil Road in Shorewood. Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s community outreach team will present the program.

The return of warm weather makes this time of year for tackling home repairs.

But how is one to know a contractor is reputable?

Troy Township is hosting “Avoiding Home Repair Scams” at 6 p.m. April 21 at the Troy Township Community Center, 25448 Seil Road in Shorewood.

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s community outreach team will present the program, according to a news release from Troy Township.

Attendees will learn the right questions to ask contractors, how to make informed choices when hiring contractors and tips for avoiding home-repair scams, the release said.
