Renwick Nursing & Rehab in Joliet gets modernized

A Joliet skilled nursing and rehabilitation health care center has been updated and transformed now that it’s under new management.

Renwick Nursing & Rehab, formerly River Crossing of Joliet, now has a modernized appearance “and the building’s aging infrastructure has undergone a comprehensive series of improvements,” according to a news release from Renwick Nursing & Rehab.

George Giolas, the site management consultant overseeing the upgrades, said in the release that the infrastructure’s upgrades “represent a significant investment in the Joliet community.”

“Behind refreshed common areas that showcase the building’s new contemporary appearance, most of our work has occurred behind the scenes,” Giolas said in the release. “These enhancements will not only improve the center’s operations but also demonstrate the new management team’s commitment to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for their patients.”

According to the release, the extensive improvements include:

• Repair to the underground water piping system that provides heat throughout the facility, addressing longstanding inefficiencies

• Reinstallation of heat pumps and HVAC units in all patient rooms to for reliable, year-round heating and cooling for residents

• Installation of six new HVAC units to provide heating and cooling to common areas

• Replacement of brickwork under facility windows to improve aesthetics and insulation

• Critical and essential repairs to the facility’s boiler

• Installation of a state-of-the-art water filtration

Carolyn Progress, administrator at Renwick Nursing & Rehab, said in the release that the improvements are not just about “fixing problems.”

“It’s about building trust with our community and providing a facility where residents can feel truly at home,” Progress said in the release. “We are proud of the work we’ve done and are excited to continue serving our residents with a renewed sense of purpose and excellence.”
