Crest Hill police seek public’s assistance with shooting investigation

Police release surveillance photos of suspect vehicles

Crest Hill police are continuing to investigate a shooting on Monday evening that may have involved three vehicles.

On Wednesday morning, police officials publicly released surveillance photos of those vehicles. The shooting occurred about 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Cedarwood Drive and Bicentennial Avenue.

“Information gathered so far has indicated that three vehicles converged at or near the intersection and shots were exchanged,” police said.

No injuries were reported and ballistic evidence was recovered.

About 5:20 p.m., Joliet police were contacted to conduct traffic control for Crest Hill police while they investigated the shooting, said Joliet police Sgt. Dwayne English.

During the investigation, Crest Hill police had Cedarwood Drive blocked off from Theodore Street to Bicentennial Avenue. The police also had Bicentennial Avenue blocked off from both Cedarwood Drive and Rock Run Drive.
