Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left an 18-year-old injured in the far northwest side of Joliet.
Neves Davis, 19, and Tomas Williams, 18, both of Plainfield, were arrested after they made statements indicating their involvement in the shooting and officers found two handguns that were used in the incident, according to a Joliet police news release.
About 4:44 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the 2200 block of Pebble Beach Drive for a report of shots fired and found an 18-year-old male who suffered a gunshot wound to the torso, police said.
“A preliminary investigation determined that a verbal confrontation occurred between the victim and Williams and Davis,” police said. “Shortly after the confrontation, Davis and Williams discharged firearms at the victim, striking him once in the torso.”

The gunshot victim ran toward the 2200 block of Stonehaven Drive, where he was located by officers, police said. He was then taken to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet for injuries considered not life threatening, according to police.
Officers were able to track down the suspects to a residence on Brindlewood Drive with the assistance of a police dog, police said. Williams and Davis were found at the residence, according to police.

“Both provided statements indicating involvement in the shooting and they were taken into custody without incident,” police said.
Officers received consent to search the residence and found two handguns used in the incident, police said.
Officers also determined that two uninvolved vehicles and a residence were also struck by gunfire,” police said.
“The Joliet Police Department wishes to acknowledge the assistance of the Bolingbrook Police Department K9 during this incident,” police said.
