A Joliet man followed up an argument with his son-in-law by firing a handgun in the air, police said.
The shooter, 65-year-old Nicholas Marco, was arrested at his Fairlane Drive home in connection with the reported shooting shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, police said.
Officers determined “Marco had fired a handgun in the air after a verbal confrontation with his son in law,” according to a statement released by the Joliet Police Department Monday morning.
“Nothing appeared to have been struck by the discharged round,” police said.
Marco was arrested on probable cause of reckless conduct and released on his own recognizance, police said.
