A Momence woman has been charged in Will County with multiple counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse of an underage male dating back to 2017 and 2018, court records show.
Will County Sheriffs police arrested Kaasandra Switzer, 33, on Tuesday morning and she was taken to the Will County jail, according to county records.
Switzer was charged with seven counts of criminal sexual assault and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for offenses that allegedly occurred in 2017 and 2018, court records show.
The sheriff’s office’s investigations unit was contacted in late 2019 about allegations of a sexual relationship between Switzer and an underage male, sheriff spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.
“According to the victim who is now of legal age, the incidents took place at a residence in Wilmington, began in 2017 and continued through 2018,” Hoffmeyer said.
In February, detectives gathered evidence, subpoenaed records and conducted interviews regarding the case, Hoffmeyer said.
The investigation led to a warrant for Switzer’s arrest that Judge Vincent Cornelius signed on Monday.
The warrant carried a $200,000 bond. Switzer needs to post 10% of that amount for her release from jail.
Deputies served the warrant at Switzer’s home in Momence, Hoffmeyer said.
Switzer is scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday before Will County Judge Dave Carlson.
