An inmate at the Joliet Treatment Center faces felony charges in connection with the spilling of an unknown liquid on a nurse at the facility, police said.
The incident allegedly occurred May 25, but an arrest warrant was not issued until Oct. 28.
About 8 p.m. May 25, Ronald Parker, 20, of Paris was suspected of spilling an unknown liquid on the face and body of a nurse, Joliet police Sgt. Dwayne English said.
Parker is an inmate at the 2848 McDonough St. Joliet Treatment Center, English said.
On Oct. 28, Joliet police detectives were able to secure a warrant for Parker’s arrest on charges of aggravated battery, English said.
Parker remains incarcerated at the facility, he said. Parker has not yet been brought to the Will Count jail, 95 S. Chicago St., Joliet.
Court records showed that the case was set for a grand jury hearing Friday.
On June 21, Parker was charged with two misdemeanor battery offenses, according to court records.
On Oct. 25, a judge quashed the arrest warrant and dismissed the charges at the request of prosecutors, court records show.
Parker is serving a five-year prison sentence on an aggravated robbery conviction in Edgar County, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections. His projected release date is April 1, 2024.
Parker pleaded guilty to the offense April 17, 2020, court records show.
